Children are the future of our planet, representing the potential for new beginnings and limitless opportunities. Switzerland is an innovative country that always strives for improvement. It is known for its fresh waters that flow from the cold Alps into lush green pastures where a variety of dairy cows graze freely in the best possible conditions, producing some of the highest quality milk in the world.

Switzerland is world-renowned for its dairy products, such as cheese and milk chocolate, and is a leader in sustainable cattle breeding and agricultural practices. These practices generally include long-standing traditions of optimal animal welfare and environmental protection.
Cows in Switzerland are cared for just like humans, being raised with the utmost care by their owners. According to SwissMilk, the official organization that represents the interests of Swiss dairy farmers and others, "Swiss farms, most of which are run by ordinary Swiss families, keep an average of 27 animals per family, creating a strong bond between families and their cows. Therefore, each farmer generally gives their cows a special name, and each one has its own personality."
Please note that all Farmalys products manufactured in Switzerland comply with the "Sustainable Swiss Milk Production" standards, ensuring that Swiss dairy cows benefit from strict welfare requirements in their rearing.
The foundation of Pharmalys Laboratories' infant nutrition products is this high-quality milk produced by Swiss cows, along with the renowned Dutch cows. After milking the cows, their milk is converted into a fine powder through a gentle aging process, enriched with high-quality vitamins and minerals to ensure babies receive all the nutrients they need.
“Milk takes about 48 hours to reach the processing stage,” said Gautam Agarwal, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Pharmalys Laboratories. “Our premium products undergo over 50 analytical tests and rigorous process control before being released to the market. Maintaining high production quality at all times is our core strength.”
Our close cooperation with various stakeholders in the Swiss dairy industry also enables us to strengthen our sustainability model and drive the development of more innovative practices to reduce our environmental impact. This aligns with one of the goals of the contemporary Swiss dairy industry, which seeks to reduce its carbon footprint. The industry has already set a target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 20%, as part of an initiative supported by the Federal Office for Agriculture.
The manufacturing units at Pharmalys laboratories, in partnership with Swiss farmers who adhere to the "SwissMilk Green" standard, adhere to high standards for natural and sustainable milk production. These dairy production standards are based on ten key requirements: open pasture farming, different breeding practices, special care for their calves, strict rules for livestock shows, protection of pregnant cows, strict restrictions on the use of drugs and antibiotics, preservation of biodiversity, GMO-free feed, 100% palm oil and fat-free feed, and efficient milking techniques. These standards contribute to improving animal welfare, food quality, public health, and even the local contribution to the Swiss dairy industry.
Switzerland has some of the strictest laws in the world for ensuring the welfare of farm animals. More than 86% of Swiss dairy farms are already part of the government subsidy program known as the Swiss Ordinance for the Periodic Outdoor Management of Livestock (RAUS Ordinance), which ensures that animals have free exercise outdoors. This means that cows spend most of their lives outdoors, grazing freely on the vast green pastures of the Swiss mountains.
According to Swissmilk, "Swiss pastures provide ideal conditions for milk production: forage such as grass, hay, silage, and corn are primarily and over 90% locally sourced and completely free of genetically modified materials." The Swiss government is committed to supporting sustainable pasture management, providing special financial assistance to farmers to help them manage their pastures sustainably, protect biodiversity, and reduce their environmental impact. However, Swissmilk reiterates, "In fact, without grazing in these open areas, grass would grow wild and dense, threatening the region's biodiversity."
Pharmalys Industrial Laboratories uses alternative energy sources to power its manufacturing facilities as part of its commitment to sustainable manufacturing. Mr. Gautam Agarwal says, "In 2023, a large-scale photovoltaic system was installed on the roof of our main production facility in Sulgen. This is a vivid example of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and making our infant nutrition products more sustainable." Photovoltaic panels convert thermal energy into electricity, providing clean, green energy by ensuring that harmful greenhouse gases are not released into the atmosphere to generate the necessary energy.
Pharmalys Industrial Laboratories is also committed to social sustainability, ensuring that our products reach countries and communities that other companies may not. We are present in more than 35 countries across the world. Our Chief Operating Officer comments, "We strongly support social development and promote the support of medical and scientific university education in the regions where we operate. As a private company, we consider this very important to our long-term economic sustainability. We are not driven by short-term profit, but rather focus all our efforts on developing innovative nutritional products for children that meet the needs of children and their families around the world."
At Pharmalys Industrial Laboratories, we believe our commitment to these sustainable practices is essential to our company's long-term future, as well as to the world's population. Whether it's through partnering with Swissmilk Green farmers, using alternative energy and clean water in the production of our products, or expanding our support for education and ensuring our products reach diverse regions and countries, we are committed to manufacturing high-quality nutritional products for children that help people around the world grow and thrive.
